My face and legs have the tell-tale signs of a stressful autumn and no riding since, really, the day of the World Cycling Championships. Basically two months of non-riding and just a bit of running and a lot of eating and wringing my hands. November 27th is a very good day to start training for next season, whatever that season might bring.
One thing is for sure--I can't sustain both a road and cyclocross season. I don't know how these kids around here do it, staying fit all year round. I would mentally be complete toast and end up hating the bike. I don't like how I get fat and out of shape, but in some ways its kind of exciting and refreshing to build once again . . .
